In July I played two new games. By new I mean games that came out within the past nine months. Here’s the update for July 2021:
- On the Switch I played Bravely Default II. This was another new, but retro-styled, JRPG with the traditional elements: hero of legend, party of four, job system, elemental crystals, world in peril, turn-based combat. But with chibi characters. Meh, that’s not a style I love. Still a very good game though, and I do recommend! I’ll review soon!
- On the PS4 I’m currently playing Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I haven’t finished it yet, so I don’t know how it ends, but I’m going to go ahead and just say it now: This game is one of my favorites of all time. It’s another turn-based JRPG, but unlike any I have played before. I am amazed at the amount of detail in this game, and I can’t believe how good this game is! But I do want to finish it before I say anything else.
- And…. still playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. I’m actually playing through the Kingdom Hearts series with my son. It’s an ambitious task!
And that’s it, that’s the soup.
